About
A Chartered Engineer with nearly 30 years of marine engineering experience, having sailed on commercial and passenger vessels to the rank of Chief Engineer and subsequently ashore on new building construction projects and technical management, including the planning of numerous refit and repair dry dockings.
John joined ABL Group (formerly Braemar The Salvage Association) in 2013 as Chief Surveyor, having formerly managed the marine casualty investigations team for a leading international maritime consulting and classification society. He has significant experience in investigating high-profile and complex marine casualties and claims.
He is a Chartered Engineer, Accredited Marine Surveyor and a Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology, serving on the US region’s executive committee.
John served as Chairman of the Association of Average Adjusters of the United States and Canada from 2019 to 2021.
