Alan Clifton is a Senior Construction Engineer and managing director of offshore services for ABL Group in the USA, based in Houston.
He has over 35 years’ experience in the offshore construction industry with a wide range of engineering and operational experience in all aspects of offshore and onshore construction. He has extensive project management experience for high value projects and innovative construction solutions. As principle marine warranty surveyor (MWS) he has approved operations both onshore and offshore in a wide range of locations including; Europe, Scandinavia, South America, Asia and the Far East. Approvals have covered a variety of transportation, installation and decommissioning operations.
He is a DNV certified HAZOP leader and has facilitated design reviews, HAZID’s and HAZOP’s. He has written expert’s damage reports for cases involving fixed object, project cargo, containers and general cargo. He has presented at conferences for the insurance market and industry. He has also acted as load-out superintendent for skidded (strand-jack) load-out of topside structures (both stern and transverse loadings).
