Marine design, conversion and upgrade experts
Through our group company Longitude Engineering, ABL Group are established global experts in detailed and concept design and engineering of new-build vessels and small craft for the defence sector. Our teams also specialise in the design of military ships for life extension, alteration and amendments, and are able to apply a wide range of computational tools to assess military specific issues such as shock and blast loading.

Military ship mooring and towing engineering and consulting
ABL Group carries out military ship mooring and towing capability assessments both for conventional vessels, alongside berths, and for non-standard operations, for instance alongside towing-at-sea in waves. We give practical advice on the design and development of mooring systems for new and existing ships, supported as required by the design and analysis of mooring equipment and ship sub-structures. We also provide assurance in mooring regulatory compliance, development of operating procedures, and forensic engineering.
Risk & assurance services for naval assets
Our team is suitably qualified and experienced to develop defence safety cases, and has delivered many multi-stakeholder HAZARD identification workshops, followed by the generation of endorsed safety case documents. We also develop safety management support systems for fleets of crafts.
As a world-leader in the provision of marine warranty survey, we are also experienced in providing the full MWS package to support critical marine operations regarding defence and navy assets and equipment at sea. Small Craft Expertise
