About
Julius is working as a senior electrical engineer in the ABL London office as part of the DP and Critical Systems team. During his time at ABL he has been involved in a wide range of DP related work including conducting 5-yearly and annual trials, writing of FMEAs and a wide range of assurance and suitability reviews of DP2 and DP3 vessels as well as critical systems including gangway and cable lay systems. He has worked on two Carbon Trust projects, which were aimed at the development of a standardised technical tender documentation for chartering of SOVs and is currently working on the development of an emissions metric for CVT vessels.
During his time with ABL he has carried out design work for a diesel electric battery hybrid DP2 vessel and for a hydrogen fuel cell/battery hybrid ferry. Additionally, he carried out the design of the electrical, hydrogen production, storage and distribution for an InnovateUK funded research project entitled ‘Green Hydrogen Production Barge’. These projects built on his experience and expertise gained through his PhD and as a Research Associate where he specialised in Hydrogen fuel cells and hybrid power systems.
