Our Sustainability
Since early 2023, ABL Group has focused on maturing our approach and teams for Environment, Social and Governance (ESG). Aligned with our Group company purpose, we are committed to ensuring our business practices and operations have a positive impact on the environment and society in which we live and work.
We do this through rigorous recording and measurement of our ESG performance annually, generating tangible data to support the Group in taking targeted action to continuously improve and to celebrate and enhance where we have a positive impact.
We are proud that this culminated in an EcoVadis bronze rating at the end of 2023, putting us in the top 37% of companies assessed by EcoVadis globally.
In addition to supporting our clients on their renewable energy and other energy transition projects, we continue to work on a number of initiatives to ensure ESG is at the heart of our everyday activities:
Deployment of a group-wide training platform with bespoke content to train the next generation of energy and maritime professionals.
Group-wide HR and people platform to track and report on diversity.
Group-wide survey on diversity and inclusion.
External programme contribution directed at improving ESG engagement.
Launching our emissions tracking programme.
Continued support for a wide range of charitable initiatives.
Continuous improvement of our HSEQ systems.
Continuous improvement of our supply chain engagement with respect to fair working practices.
Our sustainability in action
In line with our commitment to sustainability in our ABL2030 guiding purpose, ABL Group is steadfast in aligning our own strategic objectives with those developed in the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), along with anchoring our ESG reporting in these principles.
Though the Sustainable Development Goals we identified previously are still material to ABL Group, after the rapid growth we have experienced in the past several years, we deemed it a priority to revisit the goals we align with, and through that exercise, we have identified the following goals as being material, or of significant importance, to our business:
SDG 6:
Clean water and sanitation
SDG 9:
Industry, innovation, infrastructure
SDG 10:
Reduced inequalities
SDG 12:
Responsible consumption
SDG 15:
Life on land
